Before Pre-Alpha 1.0, before this level existed, Level 5 was much darker than this level, due to its lack of any lighting. This is currently the darkest level in the game. When the Player comes to a halt, they look around and the level then begins. The Player(s) walks down a dark hallway carrying a book that was grabbed from Level 7 offscreen. Once the monster sees you, you have a very slim chance of actually escaping it, try making sharp turns to confuse the monster. You can use the many lockers in the level do your advantage, simply jump from locker to locker until you reach the end, and if the monster gets near you while you're in a locker, make sure that it's gone before you exit the locker. Aside from the entity, there are no threats on Level 8. The Skin-Stealer patrols this level, and it will patrol nonstop to kill. Similar to most levels, an entity roams across the level and won't hesitate to obliterate you if it makes visual contact. The room with the vent has a red light in front of it, so look out for that one light. After this, the players must once again navigate to the northwest corner of Area 2 to find the vent which takes them to Level 9. They will do this by traversing past the dining room. The Players must navigate from Area 1 to Area 2. Like every other level, Level 8 has Players looking for an exit. There are lockers along the walls of this room. There are pillars in the middle of the room, as well as chairs tossed all about. The Dining room is quite different from the rest of the level. Lockers are even more scarce in this area. Area 2 is similar, however, it has spherical fluorescent light sources occasionally put around the map. Area 1 is devoid of lots of objects, aside from lockers that have been sparsely dotted around. The level is separated into two areas, Area 1 and Area 2, with a room in between the two, being a dining room. The only exception is that the level lacks anything scary. The ceiling is made of tiles, each perfectly the same, with the same marble appearance as the walls. The walls are grey-ish white and the floor is a brown carpet. Level 8 is quite similar to Level 3 in terms of design.
